The Bridge Alliance is a registered non profit organization whose primary goal is to connect the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied (GLBTA) community in Aroostook, Hancock, Washington, Piscataquis, and Penobscot counties accomplishing the following:
To facilitate the development of a GLBTA community which promotes and embraces diversity.
To promote and encourage the understanding that the GLBTA community plays an important role in Maine’s cultural, social and economic landscape.
To give back to the GLBTA community through charitable donations or in-kind services.
To produce annual events that will assemble the GLBTA community in Northern Maine.

In order to address the informational needs of the GLBTA community this site will be undergoing a transformation. We initially aspired to make this a social site of sorts, but with the popularity of Facebook and the like, it is apparent that we are better suited to provide the community with information that directly addresses current issues, political information, national happenings and events that shape our communities.
We would like to thank those that originally participated in the testing of the social-community-based approach, it was deeply appreciated!
We are not abandoning this model entirely, but rather will be entertaining a public forum, newsfeeds from leading publications and websites, a public calendar of events, and galleries/interests of you, our supporters.
